Today in Toronto it was -23 with windchill (that’s -9.4 F). For pigs in moving transport trucks that can feel like -40 or colder.
The pigs we bore witness to today (on their way to slaughter) were witnessed bleeding, and shivering, and some had obvious signs of windburn/frostbite. I noticed two pigs who seemed to be unable to walk; one may have even been dying. Those pigs that were particularly injured were being softly nudged by others. Some pigs rubbed their noses against my hand, one even licked my fingers; their desperation for comfort was heartbreaking. Their eyes expressed deep concern, fear, and sadness.
All these beings are now dead.
Please don’t support cruelty such as this.
